Dr. Karthigesan A .M, Senior Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at Apollo Hospital, is a internationally certified Cardiac Electrophysiologist practicing in Chennai and also visits to Apollo Madurai, Trichy & Guwahati.

He has performed more than 2000 Electrophysiology & RF ablation procedures and more than 2500 Pacemaker & Device implantations. He was instrumental in establishing dedicated cardiac Pacing and arrhythmia service at Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai in 2009 with state of the art technology.

Dr. Karthigesan served as Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bangalore. He has done Electrophysiology observership at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA and Harvard Medical School’s teaching affiliate Brigham and Women’s hospital, Boston, USA & Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA.

He has also trained in advanced 3D mapping technology guided Complex Arrhythmia Ablations like Atrial fibrillation and Ventricular arrhythmia Ablation at Shanghai Chest Hospital, China.

Dr. Karthigesan is a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist [CEPS] and Certified Device Specialist [CCDS] by IBHRE [International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners], USA. As an appreciation of his specialization and dedicated service in this field, he was conferred FHRS [Fellow Heart Rhythm Society] by Heart Rhythm Society, USA.

Dr. Karthigesan did his basic medical training at Thanjavur Medical College, Tamilnadu and postgraduation at Government Medical College, Nagpur.   His post doctoral interventional cardiology training was in Sri Sathya Sai institute of Higher Medical sciences, Puttaparthi, Andhrapradesh.

He has significant experience in performing transthoracic and transesophageal Echocardiograms and interventional cardiac procedures like Coronary angiogram.

He gained recognition for performing complicated RF ablation procedures, Pacemaker & Device implants and revisions. He runs dedicated pacemaker clinic to follow-up and trouble shooting. He is more focused on complex arrhythmia Ablation, Syncope Evaluation and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention.

He has been conducting several ECG training programs and workshops to educate medical students and paramedical staffs periodically. He has also organized several state level conferences and symposiums to create awareness in arrhythmia management among the Physicians and Cardiologist. He has been a faculty in many national and international Pacing and Arrhythmia conferences and presented papers.
